Well, this friend of mine is GLUED to their phone, and never has it off, and even if it was off, they would have received it by now, since it has been 12 hours.

I've done a little Google research and am really unable to find anything on the topic, other than it could be that the person has their phone shut on/off. I've never seen this before, as everyone else that I text using iMessage, my messages go through as "delivered." This morning I woke up and noticed the text sent as an iMessage (blue bubble) but did not say "delivered" on the bottom of the message, as iMessage usually does. Then last night, I went to text them - it was a few pictures and some text. It's been a few weeks, and I hadn't texted this person. Tap the Off button within the iMessage section of the Messages screen so that the button reads. Reasons could be: their phone not having available Wi-Fi or cellular data networks, they have their iPhone off or on Do Not Disturb mode, etc. Tap Settings on the Home screen and select Messages. Contrary to popular belief, text delivery reports do not actually mean that. Your phone will likely resend the text as a green bubble SMS. Thats all that you can infer from the lack of a Delivered status. What this means is that if you've exceeded your phone plan's data limit, or you're out of range of LTE or Wi-Fi, iMessage won't work.
