It felt exactly the same in Legion, fun at the start, when you unlock trait after trait, but the moment you hit the grind wall, it becomes dull very quickly. It’s a way to keep players playing, but it is not the right way to do things. A fun idea, if executed properly, but the third and especially fourth trait has such a high level required that you would have to grind excessively to unlock them. Azerite headgear, shoulder guards and chest pieces have 3–4 Azerite traits, powerful boosts to your class and changes the way your class plays. The level of your Heart of Azeroth unlocks traits of your Azerite gear, which replaces the Raid Tier sets we saw in previous expansions. The Heart of Azeroth levels up by you collecting Azerite, which can be found all over Kul Tiras and Zandalar, from World Quests to dungeons and Island Expeditions. Your Artifact Weapon has been drained from its power at the end of Legion, but is now replaced by the Heart of Azeroth, a necklace. Grinds my GearsĪnother feature Blizzard continued from Legion is the Artifact power grind. Mythic Keystones push people away from raids.

Which is sort of a double-edged blade, Mythic Keystones are great fun, but raids have always been the main selling point for many players, making it confusing for returning players to figure out where to start to get decent gear, in addition to the many difficulty settings for dungeons and raids. The higher the Keystone, the better the gear you get at the end of the dungeon, effectively making dungeons a better and more reliable way of farming gear than raids. These modifiers add many different things, like more enemies in the dungeon, a drastic increase in boss health and damage, a debuff that deals damage to all players which increases with every enemy killed within 5 seconds, and more.

Every level increases damage done by minions and bosses and boosts their health, in addition to four weekly modifiers that can drastically change how to handle dungeons. Complete a dungeon within the time limit and you will increase the level of your Keystone. Mythic Keystone dungeons are timed dungeons on Mythic difficulty that become more difficult the higher the level of your Keystone. I will discuss these features further on.īattle for Azeroth takes the positively received Mythic Keystone aka Mythic+ dungeons from Legion and develop it further. The new features include: War Mode, Warfronts, Island Expeditions, Azerite gear and the Heart of Azeroth necklace. As with every expansion, Battle for Azeroth introduces new features and content, while trying to develop previously introduced features that did well with the community. With ups and downs, mostly downs during the Mists of Pandaria and the dreadful Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard managed to regain some of the faith players lost in the World of Warcraft with the Legion expansion, which introduced some fun features, like the Mythic Keystones and World Quests and less fun features, like the Artifact weaponry, where you had to grind artifact power to level up your weapon. It’s been almost 14 years since the original World of Warcraft released, and even after all that time it is still one of the most played MMO’s to date. An arms race begins, factions bolster their ranks with new allies and the drums of war echo once more. In need of help, the Alliance travels to Kul Tiras, to reintroduce the naval might of the Kul Tiran humans back into their ranks, while the Horde sails to Zandalar and gather a massive Troll army.

Tensions between the Horde and Alliance rise again, as they vie over the control of these Azerite deposits. But the newly found mineral, Azerite, has powerful properties and could be used heal Azeroth, or destroy it. With their common foe defeated, many voices in both the Horde and Alliance hoped there would finally be peace between the factions and they would work together to save their planet. Azeroth bleeds, with her life-blood seeping to the surface: Azerite. With the massive sword stuck in the wound, the world of Azeroth changed. Right before his imprisonment in the Pantheon, however, The Dark Titan struck an ultimate blow, plunging his massive sword into Azeroth herself, leaving a gaping, possibly fatal wound in the world. The Dark Titan Sargeras and his Burning Legion fell at last at the hands of Illidan and Azeroth’s greatest Champions.
